- 13th May was the first day we arrived to 'Athena' the greek school of Bucharest.
On this first day a welcome ceremony was held and after that we all gathered in the meeting room of the school. Together with the headmaster, teachers and coordinators we worked on the Schedule of the meeting and upcoming activities.
Later in the morning two students played baglama, a national instrument and sung rebetico. Teachers had the chance to discover this instrument and practise with it, with the help of Marianna Katopi, the Music teacher.
Before the afternoon we visited Herăstrău Park and the Village Museum, located in Herăstrău Park, where they got acquaintance with the traditional way of life in Romania.
Later in the afternoon, walk in the Old City Centre and Sight-Seeing according with
the project “Multicultural Bucharest”. The
delegations were guided by Lazar Elena (Professor of the Greek History in
University of Bucharest) and accompanied
by Basina Vasiliki, Katopi Marianna.
On Tuesday and, accompanied by Kalogiannidou Despoina, we made an excursion to Peleș
Palace, the palace of the royal family of Romania, Bran Castle and Brașov.
On Wednesday 15th we had the Final Program Meeting, where the important issues were discussed. Time for final agreements and certificates.
On this last working day we had time to visit Primăverii Palace, the Residence of N. Ceausescu
At night, to close this visit to Bucharest teachers were taken to Greek Restaurant “Makedonia” by the lake Cernica, for the farewell dinner. A group of national dancers performed folk dances. The project coordinator declared the end of the project, thanked all partners for their hard work and wished them all the best.
