20th May
Arrivals (host families and teachers welcomed their guests
at the airport)
21st May
Welcoming of students and teachers at school and in
classrooms.
Students and teachers of the school organized activities to welcome their guests. They
presented their projects about the countries of the partnership,dramatized the
myth of Europe,they gave a shadow theatre performance with the mermaid, they
acted out a short story about the name of Thessaloniki,they presented
traditional customs, songs and dances.
22nd May
Visit to ancient Pella and Vergina.
Pella (capital city of the ancient Macedonian Kingdom in the
IV century b.c.) and Vergina (a World Heritage site).
Project discusion time in the afternoon. Students and parents enjoyed
team games at the school yard organized by parents from the local school.
23rd May
Students from the partnership enjoyed an Arts workshop, guided by
Mrs Ifigenia. They made a mermaid, a figure of the shadow theatre,using
traditional techniques to make them move when the play is being carried out.
Both students and teachers worked in a Creative Writing workshop
triggering inspiration using all senses with music, taste,smell and natural
elements. Held by Irene

Then, mascot competition and mind map exhibition.The winner mascot
was ‘Corky’ from Portugal, a fish, carrying the flags from the seven countries
and the message ‘Creating, Communicating, our Diversity We Are Celebrating!’

Afternoon: interactive walking tour along the city of Thessaloniki
organized by the Museum of School Life and Education.
24th May
Workshops were carried out.Each student build a miniature of the
White Tower, the landmark of Thessaloniki.
We visited the Municipality.And went to the Byzantine and the Archaeological
Museums.
Afternoon:families,teachers and students involved in this short
Exchange made a visit to The White Tower and enjoyed a boat tour around
Thermaikos Gulf.
25th May
Students developed their creative skills in a workshop held with
students using memories.The students created fairy tales using their mascots
and characters and the newly-gained memories of their visit in
Thessaloniki-photos of their activities throughout their visit were shown for
inspiration.
Then we made the presentation of fairy tales.The mind maps and the
different versions of Little Red Riding Hood using mad-SCRIPT Fill in
sheets,changing elements of the classic fairy tale were presented.
Mascot competition.The winning mascot was Corky from Portugal.
Closing ceremony at the school yard with music by the Philharmonic
orchestra of Thessaloniki,dance by cultural associations and traditional food
offered by the Parent’s association.
